Journal of Makeup and Beauty (ISSN 2714 – 5433) journal of make-up and beauty is a scientific journal published by Padang State University in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Makeup Education Study Programs (PPTRI). The purpose of this journal is to publish articles dedicated to fundamental and applied research on skin, hair, bun, cosmetology, SPA herbal cosmetic product formulations, and material research, experimental research, technical devices for the field of cosmetology and education. Abstract

This research aims to 1) explain what form of makeup the bride minang, 2) describes how the technique of installing makeup of the bride minang, 3) reveals what the meaning of the makeup of the bride minang in Nagari Taram. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The instruments in this study were researchers themselves and assisted with supporting instruments such as tape recorders, video tapes, or cameras. Data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. Measures for analyzing data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of this study is a form of clothing of the bride minang, consisting of talipuak, lambak, drums. For men in pangulu and sarawa gadang clothes. Accessories for women suntiang banana saparak, dukua, galang, ikek waist. Men like deta or saluak, sasampiang, karih, and tungkek. Bridal makeup and bridal make-up techniques in Nagari Taram using solid powder sponges, sow powder sponges, foundation sponges and brushes, starting from foundation, powder sow, solid powder, eyebrow frame, eye shadow, false eyelashes, blush and lipstick. While the installation of clothes starts from the installation of lambak, installing talipuak clothes, scarves and other attributes, then buns, hijabs and banana suntiang saparak. The meaning of bridal make-up in Nagari Taram is very deep and spacious.

Abstract

One easy and practical way to overcome this is by doing cosmetic treatments using a face mask with carrots. This study aims to a) To analyze how to make carrot mask (Daucus carota L) for dry facial skin care b) the appropriateness of carrot mask (Daucus carota L) in terms of the content of vitamins C and B1. c) the appropriateness of the carrot mask (Daucus carota L) in terms of aroma, texture, and adhesion (organoleptic test, d) appropriateness of carrot mask (Daucus carota L). This type of research is experimental. Place and time of research conducted in the Laboratory of make-up and beauty Education Study Program. Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Padang State University. The object of research is that carrots (Daucus carota L) are made into natural mask powders for dry facial skin care, and the organoleptic properties of traditional carrot masks (Daucus carota L) include aroma, texture, and stickiness as well as panelists' preferences (hedonic). Sources of data are observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Panelists were 7 people. Descriptive data analysis technique by displaying statistics and frequency. Based on the research results, it was found that the content of Vitamin C and Vitamin B1. Vitamin C in the carrot mask (Daucus carota L) is 4.21% and Vitamin B1 in the carrot mask (Daucus carota L) is 7.73. The most organoleptic aroma test, which was 57% said that the aroma was typical of carrots, the texture of 42.5%, the texture of carrots was less smooth and 72% of panelists said that the carrots were quite sticky. Hedonic test 57% of panelists said they liked the carrot mask. Conclusion Carrots contain vitamins C and B1. The organoleptic test was assessed by the distinctive aroma of carrots, the texture was less smooth and quite sticky and the panelists liked the carrot mask

Abstract

This research is motivated by they problem of facial skin with acne which causes a lack of self-confidence because it will cause black spots, acne scars on the face. Therefore, researchers chose a potato mask because it can help reduce black spots on acne scars. They purpose of this studyng was to dethermine the feasibility of potato starching masks from the point of view of laboratory tests, organoleptic tests, and hedonic tests. The type of research is an experimental study of potato starch masks. The data collection methods are documentation and questionnaires arranged on a Likert scale consisting of 7 panelists consisting of 2 practitioners, 2 lecturers, and 3 students. The collected data wehre procesing used a percentage descriptive analysist formula. The result of laboratory test research were Vitamin C contained in potato starch masks, namely 70.38 mg / 100gr, vitamin B1 contained in potato starch masks 0.40 mg / 100gr and potatoes containing enzymes catecholase which was characterized by the formation of foam in the sample, and the results The potato starch mask questionnaire obtained a very smooth texture, had a strong aroma, had good stickiness, and was liked by the panelists.

Abstract

Saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) can be used as the main ingredient in making face toners because saffron flower pistils (Crocus Sativus) contain Vitamin C, Zinc and Flavonoids which can be used as an alternative ingredient for facial skin care. This study aims to a) To analyze how the traditional saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) facial toner is made for facial skin care. b) To analyze the appropriateness of the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) facial toner, it was seen from the content of Vitamin C, Zinc and Flavonoids found in the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus). c) To analyze the appropriateness of the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) facial toner preparation seen from the aroma, absorption, color and preferences of the panelists. This type of research is experimental. The place to test the content of B-Carotene, Flavonoids, and Lycopene contained in the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) facial toner was conducted at the FMIPA UNP Laboratory. And the place to do the argonoleptic test was done at the Laboratory of the Cosmetology and Beauty Study Program of UNP. The object of research is the Saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) which is made into a face toner for facial skin care, the ingredients contained in the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) facial toner for facial skin care, and its organoleptic properties. Face toner preparations include aroma, absorption, color and preferences of panelists (hedonic test. Data sources from observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Panelists as many as 7 people. Descriptive data analysis technique by displaying statistics and frequency. Based on the results of the research, it was found that 1.41% of the saffron flower pistil (Crocus Sativus) face toner was made in this study. Based on the organoleptic test, it showed that the aroma, color and preferences of the panelists had a fairly high level of assessment, while the absorption rate had a low rating because the absorption power of the saffron flower's pistil face toner was not absorbed into the facial skin. It is suggested to the Department of Makeup and Beauty Education, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, that the results of this study can be used as input and reference for lecture materials in the cosmetology course that saffron flower pistils (Crocus Sativus) can be used as a face toner as a traditional cosmetic for facial skin care.

Abstract

Utilization of natural dyes for cosmetics becomes one of the alternatives to chemical dyes. Because these chemical dyes can cause irritation to the skin even the color owned by chemical dyes can not stand stored for a relatively long time. This study aims to a) analyze the color name (Hue) and color brightness (Value) of the use of henna leaves (Lawsonia inermis) and turmeric as a color light produced in the use of time 3 hours, 5 hours, 7 hours on the palm and fingertips, b) analyze the color name (Hue) and color brightness (Value) of the use of henna leaves (Lawsonia Inermis), turmeric and coconut pistils produced in the use of 3 hours , 5 hours, 7 hours on the palm and fingertips and c) analyze the color comparison (Hue) and color brightness (Value) resulting from henna and turmeric leaves with henna leaves, turmeric and coconut pistils on the palms and fingertips. This type of research is quasy experiment. The population of this study was a student of Padang State University class of 2016 aged 20-25 years with 3 samples and 7 panelists. Data retrieval technique is purposive sampling method. Descriptive data analysis techniques by displaying statistics and frequency. with independent sample- t-test  confidence. Based on the results of the study on the addition of turmeric from the average color aspect of 2.71 good categories and aspects of color brightness (value) an average of 3.14 good categories. In the use of the addition of coconut pistil henna from the average color aspect of 2.80 good categories and aspects of color brightness (value) on average 2.9 good categories and in the color indicator (hue) there is no difference in the influence of the finished result of henna making henna leaves with the addition of turmeric and the addition of coconut pistils. Value p = 0.812 (p>0.05) and in the color brightness indicator (value) there is no difference in the influence of henna making henna leaves with the addition of turmeric and the addition of coconut pistil henna. Value p= 0.531 (p>0.05). Conclusion on the color indicator (hue) there is no difference in the influence of the finished result of henna making henna leaves with the addition of turmeric and the addition of coconut pistils and in the indicator of color brightness (value) there is no difference in the influence of the result of making henna henna henna leaves with the addition of turmeric and the addition of coconut pistil henna and recommended for further research on the manufacture of henna henna leaves with the addition of turmeric and the addition of coconut pistils more , so it is expected that the color acquisition is better than before.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze how to make guava leaf mask with the addition of rice flour for acne facial skin care, 2) analyze the feasibility of guava leaf mask judging by vitamin C and flavonoid content, 3) analyze the feasibility of guava leaf mask and rice flour from texture, aroma, entanglehold and favorite panelists. The study used a quantitative approach with experimentation. The object of this study is guava leaves with the addition of rice flour made into natural mask powder. The variables in this study were free variable (X) guava leaves and bound variables (Y) of acne-free facial skincare. The type of data used in this study is primary data. Data retrieval techniques using documentation, observation. The data is analyzed by using the percentage formula to see eligibility. The results of the study were based on the content of Vitamin C and Flavonoids on guava leaf masks useful for acne facial skin care, protecting the skin from free radical attacks and Flavonoids serve as antibacterial, antioxidant and can inhibit bleeding on the skin. The appropriateness of the guava leaf mask and rice flour seen from the organoleptic test results in the texture aspect at a ratio of 60:40, most of the panelists stated that 57.14% was very smooth, while the aroma at the ratio of 80:20 most of the panelists stated that 42.8% was very strong, and adhesion power in the ratio 70:30 most of the panelists stated 57.14% adhesiveness. Meanwhile, for the hedonic test or panelists' preference in the ratio of 80:20, most of the panelists said that 57.14% really liked it. And it is hoped that further research on the feasibility of guava leaf masks and rice flour can be further developed and refined in the future to see the shelf life of masks.

Abstract

The promotion of company (La Tulipe Cosmetique) by a joint sponsorship with the famous MUA is Influences to college student behavior in buying make-up products. It is seen that college student bought is driven by psychological because the product is used by favorite MUAs. This reseacrh was conducted to know the Influence of promotion on consumer buying behavior in make-up products. This research is a quantitative descriptive chorelational type. Population in this research, students of the Department Make-up and Beauty 2017, 2018, 2019 with a total of 331 peoples. Sample in this research is 77 peoples, that taken by proportional random sampling technique and the Slovin formula. Data were collected by a questionnaire with 42 questions which were processed using the validity test, reliability test. Descriptive data analysis was obtained from percentage formula, hypothesis testing using Pearson correlation product moment and t test. The test results prove that promotion of company (La Tulipe Cosmetiques) has a strong relations with consumer buying behavior with a correlation score of the Pearson correlation product moment (r) of 0.602. The hypothesis Ha is accepted with a significance level of 95% because t count> t table (8,617> 2,000).
